Drafting is essentially technical drawing a picture, whether in 2D or 3D, and providing dimensions and details. A drafter may do some selecting parts such as bearings, seals, plinth etc. from a reference, but drafters do not use any truly advanced mathematics.

DESIGN & ANALYSIS – To analyse and design these software
1. Staad Pro (Bently)
Most commonly software for designing and analysis of steel design or concrete design of a building construction either low rise or high, bridge designing, multi-storey building (Load on column, Beam Design, Truss, Slab etc.). It supports over steel, concrete, timber, aluminium.
These are some features that are used in staad.pro – Analytical modelling, Physical modelling, STAAD Building Planner, steel Auto Drafter, STAAD Beava, Advanced concrete design, Advanced slab design, Earthquake design.
2. ETABS (CSI-America)
ETABS offers a single window user interface to perform for modelling of building structure and design and analysis of that structure. In ETABS report / documents are auto generate, even any modification in modelling ato update on report. A new model explorer is available for quick access to objects, properties and forms. ETABS is particularly focused on building structures. ETABS is more user friendly and simple than staad.Pro.
SAP2000 is integrated software for structural analysis and design powered by SAPfire. SAP2000 isbest for analysis of structures like those of complex like varying width bridges, and flyovers and more complex structures. Modelling of 3D structures is very easy compared to that of staad.pro. SAP2000 is mostly use for complicated structures such as curved flyovers varying along with length, seismic analysis.

BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING (BIM)
